Our creative team — illustrator Sue, graphics designer Jen, and yours truly, the author — wantFleetwoodbefore
to thank everyone at Willow Creek Elementary in the Fleetwood Area School District for an absolutely amazing morning!  It was truly a joy to share our book, Just Plump Penelope, with all of the students in kindergarten through fourth grade
who made us feel so welcome and who were beyond a doubt the best audiences that any presenters could possibly hope to meet.  Your attentiveness, your willingness to participate (your arms must have been tired after being asked “How many of you . . . ? how many times!), and especially your excellent questions told us you really were listening and thinking about what we shared with you.  We can only hope that all of you enjoyed our time together as much as all of us enjoyed being with you.MAtalking

Thank you, too, to Ms. Sandy Hawkins, who organized our visit and endured numerous email exchanges and
even a few
phone calls to make sure that everything would run smoothly.
Thank you as well to Mr. Crissman, who took such great care of us
when we arrived and helped us to get everything — including the gold bench — all set up well in advance of the students’ arrival for the assembly.  Thank you to all of the teachers and aides who have clearly taught Willow Creek students how to be a great audience.  And thank you to the Willow Creek PTA, who so graciously invited us to share both of our stories.

Finally, thank you to all of you who purchased a Fleetwood-MAwithGrandson
copy of our book.  Sue, Jen and I have an awesome time planning and working together — that’s probably why
we have a few more books in various stages of preparation — but for all of us the greatest reward of all is seeing the book that we created in the hands of our readers.

Thank you, Willow Creek, for a truly wonderful experience!

P.S.  Watch this site for photos and video of our time with the folks at WC . . .  they’ll be appearing soon.Fleetwood2-29-16.1
