How can it be that the Three Storytelling Ladies have only one more signing event before Easter 2017 becomes just a memory?
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you! Sue, Jen and I will be signing books one final time for this Easter season on Saturday, April 15th (that’s the day before Easter) at the Market at Boyer’s Junction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. I know, I know — 8 a.m.?!? But there is a method to our madness. You see, the Market has awesome breakfast food and coffee, so if we start early you can grab something yummy to nosh on and to sip while you wait in line to have your very own copy of The Easter Chicken signed — personalized even! And from the response we’ve received to our latest book, there will be a line . . .
The Easter Chicken has really taken off (pun totally intended). We have had to order additional books and are keeping our fingers crossed that they will arrive here in time for Saturday’s event. So . . . if you absolutely MUST have our book in order to complete your Easter basket(s), come early! Sue, Jen, the Easter Chicken and I will be there to greet you!
Three Storytelling Ladies
Do you know what today is? That’s right — it’s Friday, April 7th!
And do you know what that means? It means that there are only 8 — that’s right — 8 more shopping days until Easter!
Now do you want to hear the good news? There is no need to panic! You can still get your copies of The Easter Chicken for those all-important Easter baskets by coming to see illustrator Sue Oswald and author Mary Ann Hayes and of course me at the Moravian Bookshop in Bethlehem, PA between 1 and 3 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, April 8th. We will be reading and signing copies of The Easter Chicken just for you! And we will be hanging out with our new best friend, the Easter Bunny! Who could ask for anything more?
So don’t procrastinate! Be a super bunny and get those baskets loaded! Then next Saturday night when everyone else is running around like chickens with their heads cut off — ooh! that’s not a very pretty picture — you’ll be sitting in your easy chair sipping your carrot juice martini while you read your very own copy of The Easter Chicken!
See you at Moravian!
Hello, dear readers,
We know it’s hard to believe, but it is true: Easter is almost here! So we have one question for all of you — are YOU ready?
Because we love our readers we’ve devised a simple checklist for you so that you won’t find yourself without the essentials when you fill those Easter baskets. Why don’t you take a minute to check it right now? Here we go:
2. A copy of The Easter Chicken
3. Dyed hard-boiled (very important to hard boil them!) eggs — 4 to 6 should do
4. A copy of The Easter Chicken
5. A large peanut butter or coconut egg with the recipient’s name on it
6. A copy of The Easter Chicken
7. A hollow chocolate bunny (large ears preferred)
8. A copy of The Easter Chicken
9. Hershey kisses wrapped in Easter pink and blue foil
10. A copy of The Easter Chicken
11. Jelly beans — lots of them because they’re small
Oh, and did we mention a copy of The Easter Chicken?
So now that you have your list, be a super bunny and get hoppin’ and get to shoppin’!
Sue, Jen and Mary Ann
P.S. Since you’re such a good bunny, treat yourself to a large chocolate rabbit, too, and a copy of — wait for it — The Easter Chicken!
Just had to take a moment to thank all of you who came out to Antler Ridge Winery Sunday afternoon to visit with us and to buy your copy/copies of The Easter Chicken. Sue, Jen and I had a wonderful time chatting with all of you and signing books for you and/or the lucky folks for whom you purchased a book. We hope that you will enjoy reading our latest work as much as the three of us enjoyed creating it!
We also want to thank Jane at ARW for once again being such a gracious host (I’m trying to be politically correct by not saying “hostess”). As long as Jane will have us, every one of our books will have a signing at the winery — we love being there!
Finally, to those of you who have not yet gotten your very own copy of The Easter Chicken, please visit our appearances page to learn about upcoming signings and visit the where to purchase page for locations where you can purchase the book.
We know the Easter Bunny has been a tradition for forever, but we think it’s time for the real little egg-maker to get her due, so please help us to launch Cassandra Chicken to national — oh, heck, how about international — fame by getting the word out to everyone you know. Let’s make it The Easter Chicken in every Easter basket!
Thank you from all of the storytelling ladies for your support . . .
Sue, Jen and Mary Ann . . . and of course, CC
Hello, everyone! Cassandra Chicken here to remind you that the 3 Storytelling Ladies and I will be at Antler Ridge Winery tomorrow — yes, Sunday, March 26th, from 1 to 4 p.m. — to meet you, and the ladies will be happy to sign my book for you. I’d sign, too, but I’m still exhausted from painting all those eggs!
So please come out and see us. It’s not nice to make a chicken cry . . .
The Easter Chicken
Cassandra Chicken with easter eggs!
First, thank you for the wonderful response to our latest book, The Easter Chicken. We are so excited about this book, and we hope that all of you will be, too.
We’ve heard from so many of you who want to know where you can get your own copy of this tell-it-all publication and particularly how you can get signed copies. So we just arranged to be at the Antler Ridge Winery in Mertztown this Sunday, March 26th, from 1 to 4 p.m. That’s right — all three of the storytelling ladies will be on hand to introduce Cassandra Chicken to our readers and to sign as many books as you need to fill that one empty spot in each of the Easter baskets you’re creating for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and any other children — or adults — who are dear to you! And of course there is always that delicious AR wine to sip that will make any waiting in line enjoyable.
So please add us to your calendar now and then come and join us at the winery on Sunday — it is one of our favorite signing spots!
See you there . . .
Sue. Jen and Mary Ann
3 Storytelling Ladies with The Easter Chicken
Hello, dear readers!
Yes, it has been a long time since our last post, but now that we have something to crow about, we simply can’t be silent any longer! Are you ready to hear our exciting news??? Well, here it is: The Easter Chicken is arriving today! Yes, that’s right — TODAY!
Have you ever wondered why a rabbit delivers those gorgeous Easter eggs every year? Didn’t you ever stop to ask yourself where a rabbit gets eggs, let alone beautifully colored eggs, when clearly rabbits do not lay eggs? If you have, wonder no more! Our new illustrated book, The Easter Chicken, will answer all of your questions! And what’s more, you will enjoy getting to the bottom of this age-old mystery because of all of the amazing illustrations by Suzanne Oswald and the wonderful graphic design by Jennifer Conrad Fink.
We “Three Storytelling Ladies” had so much fun creating this book that we can’t wait to share it with
everyone we know and all of the people we don’t know, too. Oh, and we’re pretty sure your children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren — you get the idea — will love it, too.
So Easter is only a month away! You don’t want to be winging it (oops! I couldn’t help myself) when it’s time to fill all of those Easter baskets. Get all of the copies of The Easter Chicken that you will need so you will be prepared! And get a copy for yourself, too. Then sit back, put your feet up, and let us tell you our story . . .

And your pumpkin pie with whipped cream piled high
Makes your day with loved ones a total delight!
Happy Thanksgiving from Just Plump Penelope and the 3 Storytelling Ladies (aka Jen, Sue and Mary Ann)
It’s true! We are officially a creative team! Yes, we have been functioning as a team ever since we began working on our first Just Plump Penelope book, and it has truly been an awesome adventure. In fact, it has been so awesome that we’ve decided we need a brand, a logo to let all of our followers and those who have not yet discovered us know who we are and what we do.
And so . . . TRUMPET FANFARE HERE! . . . we are from this time forward Three Storytelling Ladies! Of course we are still Sue, the illustrator; Jen, the graphic designer; and Mary Ann, the author. We should add that we don’t see our roles changing in the future . . . we know for certain that I will never be set loose to do the illustrations — that would be a disaster!
You might be saying, “So what’s different? The three of you are still doing what you’ve been doing — creating children’s books.” But what you may not know is that we do so much more! You see we are so excited about what we’re doing that we want to share our love of writing, illustrating, and graphic design and of working as a team with people of all ages. To that end, we have put together a presentation called “Story of a Story Assembly Flyer” in which in approximately 45 minutes we take our audience through the entire process of creating a book from its inception as an idea in the mind of the author to the finished book that our readers hold in their hands.
But that’s not all! We also believe very strongly in the anti-bullying message contained in our Penelope books, and so we are currently putting together a second presentation based on our newest release, Just Plump Penelope Goes to Kindergarten. Through this program we hope to bring greater awareness to the seriousness of bullying at any age and to set in motion a dialogue among groups of all types — schools, churches, and civic organizations — that will lead to fewer and fewer individuals experiencing the harmful consequences of bullying.
So that’s who we are — yes, we are still Sue, Jen and Mary Ann, but we are now also 3 STORYTELLING LADIES with the mission of bringing to our readers and viewers messages we hope you will want to read and to hear. If you would like to learn more about our books and our presentations, please go to 3storytellingladies.com or write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
